I am a well-qualified teacher of Portuguese and English as a Second Language with over 13 years experience in various countries. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Portuguese and have finished the Teacher’s Accreditation Course at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. I also hold a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) with a “pass A” and the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE). I have taught a wide range of students, from young learners to adults. I possess a Young Learner’s Certificate from International House (IHCYL) and extensive experience working with very young learners as well. In Spain and Brazil part of my teaching hours were in-company classes, where I taught one-on-one and group formats ranging from elementary to advanced level. Teaching in different countries and at summer camps in England where there was a wide mix of nationalities has allowed me to develop and refine teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
